This charming pendant showcases a Fordite stone wrapped in silver-plated German-style wire, accented with a delicate silver bead. The second photo highlights the back of the stone, which is just as captivating as the front!  Standing approximately 1.75 inches tall (see picture 4 for size reference), it comes with an 18-inch 925 Sterling Silver snake chain. Please note that the wires may naturally darken over time, but you can easily restore their shine with the included polishing pad.

Fordite: The Gemstone Born from Automobiles

Fordite, also known as "Motor Agate" or "Detroit Agate," is a unique, man-made material created from layers of old automotive paint. It originated in car factories where excess paint built up on spray booth racks over time. These hardened layers were later cut and polished into vibrant, swirling patterns, making each piece a one-of-a-kind work of art.

Properties and Meaning

Fordite is celebrated for its rich history and striking appearance, with colorful bands resembling natural agate. While it doesn't carry traditional metaphysical properties, it is often associated with creativity, innovation, and sustainability, as it repurposes industrial byproducts into stunning jewelry and collectibles.

Uses and Care

Fordite is commonly used in jewelry, cabochons, and art pieces. Since it is essentially hardened paint, it should be handled with care—avoid prolonged exposure to water, heat, and harsh chemicals. Clean it gently with a soft cloth to maintain its luster.

With its fascinating origins and bold, colorful patterns, Fordite is a symbol of artistry, history, and eco-conscious craftsmanship.
